Why you NEED to teach your kids about money.
If you don’t, the world will.
Isn’t that a saying for quite a few things?
If you don’t teach your own kids about sex, from a Christian perspective, most likely, and it is HIGHLY likely that they will learn the worldly version.
The same goes with money. If you do not teach your children the Christian principles, or even good principles for that matter, on money, the world WILL!
I merely speculate (and I hope I get some feedback from this blog) that perhaps the unwillingness to teach children about money is one of two things. And again, I say I “speculate.” I don’t come to you with facts today, numbers or references but merely “I wonder” questions:
Two Reasons You Don’t Speak of Money
#1 – I wonder if perhaps people don’t teach their children about money because they are a mess themselves with their money?
#2 – I wonder if people don’t teach their children about money because they don’t know very much themselves?
Which category do you fall into? Are you a financial wreck and therefore don’t feel worthy of teaching your children about money?
Or, do you lack the confidence because you yourself don’t feel you know anything about money?
The world will teach your child that debt is good, to buy whatever you desire, to be brainwashed by commercial after commercial, to be impulsive and ignore self-control.
The bible offers us SO many more principles that teach us to live pleasing lives to God.
