5 Ways to Earn $1,000 in 30 Days
Are you beginning your debt free journey? Are you tired of living paycheck to paycheck? Crisis to crisis? Are you ready to take your money and financial plan into your own hands?
I am going to give you 5 ideas for building an emergency fund, quick!
What Is An Emergency Fund?
An emergency fund is a set amount of money, set aside for emergencies. Emergencies can include: issues with the car, an emergency visit to the ER, washer or dryer breaks down, a leak in the roof.
While you are still in debt, these types of emergencies can REALLY drain your finances and tend to derail your efforts at becoming debt free.
Why Emergency Funds Are Important
An emergency fund is crucial to protecting and guarding your wealth, especially during the process of paying off debt. This money is set aside to guard and protect the rest of your wealth, which is already assigned and being used to do other things.
If you are in debt, this could be, paying off some debtors. If you are adding money into your retirement, it is guarding and protecting this money so that it makes its way into your retirement account.
An emergency fund is especially crucial for your bank accounts to not be entirely depleted, causing us to make poor decisions, such as using a credit card with 26% interest, or falling trap into stepping into a Pay Day lender who charges you 60% interest! Or borrowing from a friend or relative.
An emergency fund is your own personal, self-stored insurance policy to guard and protect your wealth.
Steps to Grow an Emergency Fund in 30 Days
1. Part-time job
This is the easy one. Pick up a part-time job. There are SO many jobs out there paying $15/hour. Pick up a part-time job for around 20 hours a week and 30 days later you have $1000!
2. Sell stuff on Facebook Marketplace & Ebay, etc.
I don’t know about you but, if I REALLY wanted to, in about 10 minutes I could have a pile full of things from around my house that I could EASILY sell for $1000 to have an emergency fund – old furniture, kid’s clothes they’ve outgrown, decor you no longer use.
3. Facebook Groups

Offer to do odd jobs around the Neighborhood to build a quick emergency fund – my neighborhood has a Facebook group. A simple strategy for picking up some extra work for an extra income would be to announce in your neighborhood Facebook group, or even widen your reach with your town or city Facebook groups, that you are available for some odd jobs – clean someone’s house, drive elderly to the store, walk someone’s dog for a few weeks, dog sit while someone is on vacation, mow a neighbor’s yard, etc.
4. Babysit

Oh my gosh! How quickly I would imagine you could pick up $1000 for the emergency fund just from babysitting so mom and dad can get a date night, a single mom can go to work for the day. I know as a young parent, we are ALWAYS in need of a babysitter.
5. Make Budget Cuts
Looking to build an emergency fund, try just cutting some expenses for the next 30 days. I’d imagine between the cell phone bill, cable and internet, lawn service, subscriptions you don’t need and more you could almost easily get to $1,000.
